Top 5 Best Steps To Promote Your Freelance Career or Business Using Twitter

Twitter is one Social Media Tool that if used properly can take your Freelance Career or Business to the sky high reaching limits. But many people have fallacy that the only way to be successful on Twitter is having many followers. Yes I agree you need followers but not that many to get the desired results. The only thing is you must know How To Use Twitter. Success as a freelancer involves knowing the right people, meeting the right people, and getting your name out there.

So folks to learn more, just follow this Social Media Guide on Top 5 Best Steps To Promote Your Freelance Career or Business Using Twitter.

Step 1: Create a Gripping Twitter Profile

People tend to follow you after they discover your profile. So make sure you have an attractive profile on Twitter. These are three main categories that need to look at:

Profile Picture:

Make sure you have a decent, professional and friendly looking profile picture. And one more thing don’t even think to upload your cat, dog or your favorite pet photo it wont gain you anything.

Bio:

Twitter allows you to write your bio within 160 character limit so make sure you make count of every word. Keep it informative and professional.

Website Link:

Now this is something very important as the link you provide will lead to your Website. Go to Profile->Edit Profile. You’ll see a field where you can enter your web address.

Step 2: Find New Clients

A successful marketing involves building relationships with clients and others within your industry. There is no doubt that Twitter is an amazing communication tool that allows clients and prospective clients an opportunity to learn more about you and your services. By making proper use of Twitter get your designs, products and articles out in the public eye and strike up conversation with other people in your field. Using Twitter you can find new clients in the most basic way. And make sure you Search for people tweeting about needing design or any product help or having any questions.

Step 3: Tweet Daily

I have seen many people having so much good stuff to share with their audience but they tend not to Tweet or share. The reason behind is many people say that they don’t have time do so, well I say if you don’t have time then try to create time out of your breaks. How hard can it be to just Tweet a single line? And make sure you do it regularly on daily basis. But you are so busy that you don’t even have time to breath then I say you must make use of these two tools:

Hootsuite and Tweetdeck. These are great tools to set up tweets in advance to post throughout the day.

Step 4: Ascertain Expertise

Twitter is one great Social Media tool through which you can build your professional reputation online and positioning yourself as an expert within your field. All you need to do is post things to your Twitter account that is relevant to your area of work. You can look for many other useful articles, news, and blogs. Tweet your own designs and articles with relevant information about them. You need to provide information that people want to see and hence thereby you can gain a wider audience and reach more people. By this way you can attract more people and clients for your business.

Step 5: Impel Traffic To Your Site

Twitter is one great and amazing Social Media Tool that can drive immense traffic to your Blog or Website. A successful freelance career depends upon finding new clients and being highly seen. Whenever you publish a new post to your blog or put up a new design on your site, you can always send out a Tweet about it. By doing this your Twitter followers will visit your site and then hopefully Tweet about it themselves to their followers and making your post to reach multiple audience. Twitter is better, faster, more effective, or interactive marketing tool available for freelancers today. So make sure you follow these steps and make the most out of it.

Twitter profiles really help. It’s the first thing I check when I see a new follower. If there is no profile I will not follow back unless I know them personally. When I first joined I had an image vs. a photo, a photo did make a huge difference!

    Hey

Great tips and I think you hit the nail on the head with these.

Your profile and picture are important and I’ll check them out too. If they are all about promoting or have nothing added I won’t follow them either. I will check out their site though.

I’m mostly about quality over quantity which is why I still don’t have a large Twitter following. You’re already aware that I use Triberr, My reach is beyond the millions so that’s extremely helpful. Twitter is definitely the best way to get more traffic to your blog.

    Wonderful tips!

I think you mentioned everything there is about Twitter in a nut-shell 🙂

I learnt most of these things rather late, though always had my blog link, photo, and bio in place. But yes, knowing that social media is all about sharing the post of others was something that got things working for me, which is the same with Twitter. I think when we connect with like minded people and tweet their posts at a time when our followers are able to read the tweets, is what work wonders.

I always check out the link and bio of any follower before following them back, and make sure to visit their blog or site and check out if it’s really theirs, or else let them pass. So, the selective few people whom I follow, I am sure about them and their blog or posts.

    Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  7. I really agree with all your points, specially the first point as I hate when someone get to use others picture or a picture that doesn’t describe anything of what they are doing. The Bio is also a very effective way to grab people to business.

Well done with your post 😉

hey Faissal, welcome to the Blog. ya using some others pictures is really creepy sometimes and that is the only reason for not having too many followers. If people cant see someone’s pic then how they are supposed to follow them. have a great day, thank you for stopping by 🙂 cheers
